Toughness, not stamina

[edit]

Eccentric contractions do not result in greater stamina, they result in greater toughness - muscles, tendons and the musculo-tendinous junctions become thicker and tougher (i.e. more resistant to breakage) because of eccentric contractions. There is minimal increase in stamina as a result of eccentric training.WLU 15:18, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge of eccentric pages

[edit]

Eccentric (sport) and eccentric exercise deal with the same issues as eccentric contraction, but this entry is more comprehensive and has a more over-arching title. Does anyone have any reasons why this merger should not happen? WLU 21:00, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that they should be merged into this article. They all cover the same topic, and "Eccentric contraction" is definitely the more appropriate title. This article could do with some improving though. --David Scarlett(Talk) 05:27, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ya, I wrote most of it myself, and when I do that for an entire article, it usually makes sense to me and not so much to others. Do you have any suggestions? WLU 12:18, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
