Cancelled Source

[edit]

Can we please get a better source for the cancellation than a wordpress page? I'm pretty sure the L.A. Times made an inference and a reference to McBride. 167.21.1.224 (talk) 12:51, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Title of the Show

[edit]

I think the actual title of the show is "Eastbound & Down" and not "East Bound and Down," or so according to the official HBO website. Can anyone confirm this? Mockenoff (talk) 20:35, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to say the same thing. It is indeed called Eastbound & Down according to HBO or IMDB... JohnConnor01 (talk) 21:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And this was created by Ben Best, Jody Hill and McBride according to HBO again http://www.hbo.com/eastboundanddown/cast/index.html#about JohnConnor01 (talk) 21:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected

[edit]

I've made a page redirecting "Eastbound and Down" to this article, "Eastbound & Down". I only say this because I said in a previous edit to Will Ferrell that the redirect should be made, and I didn't want someone to be confused when they tried to make the redirect, or be confused because they think I was wrong because a redirect already existed. Belasted (talk) 04:50, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

=Why? "Eastbound and Down" is a very famous song from a movie more famous than this HBO series. Now "Eastbound and Down" redirects to this silly HBO show rather than the actual song called "Eastbound And Down"

Renewed!

[edit]

MSNBC reports the show was renewed. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30110061/ Dahumorist (talk) 19:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

What does the title of the show mean and to what does it refer? --78.34.241.100 (talk) 16:22, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is the name of a song by Jerry Reed in the film "Smokey and the Bandit" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.59.182.179 (talk) 21:29, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The title of the show is due to the fact that he is going back home away from the major leagues. His home is North Carolina (Eastbound) and his job is now a Physical Education teacher at a middle school, which is much further down the ladder of achievement if your last job was being a Major League Baseball Pitcher. Hence the name, Eastbound & Down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.248.229.206 (talk) 18:12, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Both of the above are true, but another meaning had occurred to me: the phrase could be used to describe a type of pitch. Bear in mind, this is all speculation as I am not a baseball enthusiast. But as most batters are right-handed, a ball that travels 'eastbound and down' (from the viewpoint of the pitcher) would curve inward toward the batter's knees. I suppose it would be a type of curve ball, and rather difficult to hit. It would be nice for someone who knows about baseball to confirm or deny my theory.R0m23 (talk) 01:22, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's a pretty big stretch, imo. I've never heard a pitch referred to as such, and I've played baseball competitively for 20 years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.89.0.60 (talk) 17:12, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Error

[edit]

Ana de la Reguera's character is Vida, not Rida, as the page says. I was going to fix this, but I wanted to let you guys make the call. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.158.206.111 (talk) 16:59, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
