Berkeley Hills is the correct toponym
[edit]The ridgeline upon which several parks are located is in fact named the Berkeley Hills. If the issue was whether or not they are above Oakland as well as Berkeley, this fact has been retained. Tmangray (talk) 05:36, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- You have never proved your assertion that the term 'Oakland Hills' is incorrect. My edits on this page bypass the confusion you generate on this topic and are factually correct.--Fizbin (talk) 05:42, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- It is incorrect. It has not been recognized by the USGS nor any professional geographers. What is YOUR proof? Do you have a AAA map of the area? How about a USGS topographic map? Do you see anything there that says "Oakland Hills? You must either be a newcomer to the Bay Area, some sort of Oakland booster, or possibly someone who carries their dislike of Berkeley out of bounds. Tmangray (talk) 05:46, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- The text I used bypasses the whole issue while giving readers an accurate and straightforward account of where to find the parks - your edits do not. And neither a newcomer, an Oakland booster or a Berkeley hater - I just prefer to eliminate ambiguity, which is what my edits do and yours do not.--Fizbin (talk) 05:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- There is no "issue" about the proper name. Neither is there ambiguity. The cities are mentioned together with the name of the range which runs along their eastern limits. You're censoring a proper toponym without any authority or rationale. Tmangray (talk) 05:58, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Map needed
[edit]The page really needs a map because this district encompasses many different sites and facilities. There is a good one on the East Bay Regional Park District Web page, but I don't know whether it meets Wikipedia's public domain requirements. Bruin2 (talk) 15:26, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

- I added back the linked list here. if someone thinks its redundant, i disagree, but i also feel we could easily create a stand alone list, List of East Bay Regional Parks, as another navigation aide.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 01:31, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- I support your idea of a stand-alone list for park names. Consider using a table format with one column for the park name, another for tan image related to the park, a third for the nearest large community, and a fourth to show distinguishing characteristics or features of the individual park.
