India's ranking?
In rankings India (world's largest democracy, with freedom, peace and stability) is far behind some countries where one can not be sure of one's life. Can any one explain ?.. To do business, one has to be alive, in one piece. India behind Yemen, a war torned country ? India is also behind some countries with extreme inflation.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Vwalvekar (talk • contribs) 14:36, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- Quoting the article: The index is 1) based on the study of laws and regulations 2) meant to measure regulations directly affecting businesses 3) does not directly measure more general conditions such as inflation or crime (I guess also war is not measured). So things like "very high inflation", "war torn" vs. "peace and stability" do not count. The index tries to measure things like "cost and delay caused by laws and regulations when you need to expand a factory". JuhoSchultz (talk) 16:05, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
