Earth Centre Page now live

[edit]

I have been working on the Earth Centre page, it is now live and is ready to receive more work. I plan to upload some photos which I shall place in wiki commons so they will be placed in the public domain. I hope that others contribute to this page.

It was very exciting working at Earth Centre from 2001 until 2004 and it is a disgrace that it had to shut. It is reported today in the papers that it is now 'cool' and 'trendy' to be sustainable. It is a shame that earth Centre was not sustainable. There was a lot of excellent education work involved there and some exciting new education packages had just been developed.Rich@rd 22:02, 16 September 2005 (UTC)Rich@rd[reply]

Earth Centre and Sustainability

[edit]

Earth Centre had some good ideas but it is a shame the reality did not live up to expectations. Some truly horrendous happenings on site including breaching of Health and Safety and some really un-sustainable construction processes. This is a common fault though when contractors are brought (in this case Bovis) who consider it 'just another construction project'

What was it?

[edit]

This article is rather rambling and unencyclopedic, with much material of which the relevance is unclear, particularly in the Background section. More importantly, there is no clear explanation of what the Earth Centre was or was supposed to be. It would appear to suffer from the original source being publicity material from the Centre's own site, with a continuation of an overly subjective view of the project. I agree with the above !

[edit]

The article is monstrous! It tells us nothing about the earth centre or the mad politics that gave rise to it. Wouldn't it be better to simply delete it? 86.145.16.86 (talk) 17:10, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move?

[edit]

Now that the page has survived AfD, I will try to do some cleanup. However, is this the best name for the page? Cursory investigation yields that just Earth Centre should be sufficient, but if there needs to more disambiguation, perhaps Earth Centre (Doncaster)? I think just Earth Centre would be sufficient, and if a whole bunch of earth Centre's pop up, create a disambiguation page. Of course, acknowledging that the Earth Centre can be anywhere other than where I'm sitting is difficult, but I should be able to cope...... Vulture19 (talk) 18:17, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's an Earth Centre?

[edit]

And how about an Introduction? This article deserves a new status; less useful than a Stub, it should be classed as a Blob. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.29.122.36 (talk) 09:58, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
