Earned media cannot be bought?
[edit]> Earned media cannot be bought
Hmmm I am unsure. AFAIK companies pay people to write in social media channels.
Substantially Rewritten
[edit]I reduced the article to a stub and rewrote it. It was basically a hype piece for earned media PR and the article was about 65% written by two SPA's each of which had significant red flags or policy violations associated with the content:
- @SKRBL edited the article in 2014 to add the examples table. It was blatant WP:COPYVIO from this article[1]
- @112.196.158.19 added the same three examples (Shave Club, Oxford dictionary, Assam Tea) to three marketing-related articles and has never edited again. Assam Tea got 8 source and the others only one each. The IP address resolves to New Delhi, India. This has strong suggestions of UPI. Perhaps there would be a role for these examples in a more balanced article.
Because of the copyright violation issue, I felt this was not a matter of discretion; the article needed to be changed and I tried to keep it readable and useful. If anyone feels I've overstepped, feel free to comment. Oblivy (talk) 06:29, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
