Good night, John Boy?
[edit]Wasn't The Homecoming used for the pilot of "The Waltons"? TREKphiler hit me ♠ 20:15, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
The Homecoming was commissioned as a standalone telemovie by CBS in 1970. After its broadcast the decision was made to go ahead with a TV series with the same characters.Alex Paige (talk) 02:26, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Voice
[edit]Apparently he is the Voice-over on The Waltons. He sounds a lot like the artificial voice that Stephen Hawking uses. Is there any connection? 86.139.19.232 (talk) 10:59, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
Italian American descent
[edit]Earl Hamner's mother's patrilineal is indeed of Italian descent but his Italian immigrant ancestor settled at the time of the American Revolution and intermarried. RichardBond (talk) 18:29, 17 September 2014 (UTC)
Information Missing?
[edit]It seems like there is a lot of information missing between the following two paragraphs:
"Hamner was in his sophomore year on a scholarship at the University of Richmond when he was drafted into the Army during World War II. He was first trained to defuse landmines and then transferred to the Quartermaster Corps because he could type. He served in France after the invasion of Normandy. He subsequently attended Northwestern University and then graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in broadcast communications.[3][4]
Hamner died of cancer on March 24, 2016, aged 92.[5]" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:4260:35D0:1483:70F8:956D:F556 (talk) 20:47, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
