Reign

Much of the article appears to be a generally unsourced discussion of the history of a number of Anglo-Saxon kingdoms at around the time of Ealdwulf period as king of East Anglia. I intend to start moving what is unrelated to him out of the article, as I can't see why it should remain there. Hel-hama (talk) 06:57, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

• I understand that there's a good chance this isn't recorded, but is it known why the passing of the throne wasn't hereditary in this case?

You're right, there seems to be little information available. Yorke (p. 63) refers to the Historia Regum's account of who succeeded Ælfwald, but without any elaboration. Paragraph amended to clarify and add the ref from Yorke. Amitchell125 (talk) 11:34, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
