Concerns

[edit]

Thanks Statisticalregression but it appears that the article needs yet more copy editting. What really concerns me is that the bulk of this entry reads like an ECC advert or brochure. Things such as teachers receiving "2 full weeks of training" seem overly enthusiastic. 76.6.173.2 12:44, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think ECC staff may have contributed to the article a bit, it is promotional in some parts, but I dont think they were intentionally trying to make it an advertisement. If you see anything that looks overly promotional just change it. I agree though.....two "full" weeks of training is rather enthusiastic. --Statisticalregression 21:02, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

recent changes

[edit]

Hello - I did some copy editing, sourcing, and shuffling of content on the article. I didn't remove much but there's still a few things that are a tad POV/promotional. I'll continue to add sources and content when I can. Statisticalregression 06:34, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

teaching staff

[edit]

I don't really understand why this section talks about how much of the lessons are kids lessons, how some are chosen to be business and university instructors, hours worked, wages, or training. Do these really seem pertinent as company information? I could understand that type of information on a page/article that is compared companies in this industry for job purposes, but I don't really understand why it's in this article about the company. --Hydenobuyuki (talk) 13:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel the information is useful, there isn't an article comparing the employment, salaries, or cost of lessons yet so for the time being keeping this information on the company articles is helpful. If someone creates an article to compare this kind of information then I would be in favor of moving it off the page but as it stands now it's relevantStatisticalregression (talk) 22:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really think it is information about the company itself. I think that much of that information could be internal information. An article comparing employment by a number of schools would be interesting; but again, I think a lot of that information would be considered internal information about the internal processes and tradesecrets of a company. The cost of lessons, on the other hand, I more strongly believe this is information that these schools protect. Consequently, is there a good source we can cite for this information to be sure it isn't internal company information? Salery

[edit]

On the article page it states "All teachers start at 5,000 yen per month salary." That is only $42.47 dollars. I think you got the amount wrong. Because, $42.47 dollars a month... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.160.33 (talk) 05:50, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"False Front"

[edit]

I'm removing this section. Seriously, someone read this on a GEOS page and thought it might be trustworthy? I am an American ECC teacher hired two years ago in a San Francisco recruiting session. I know 7 other teachers who can be described the same way, and can probably find 30 other American teachers with a few minutes' work on my keitai's address book. This section looks like it was written by an American applicant upset over his own inability to get the job if not a GEOS shill.
