Jackman-Long building at Oregon State Fair?
[edit]I think I now know why the Jackman-Long building is so-named. Thanks for another well-researched, thorough, and interesting article, Orygun! If you don't have a citation for the name of the building, I'll see about getting around to looking it up. Cheers. Katr67 (talk) 08:05, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Believe you’re right; Jackman-Long Building is almost certainly named for E.R. Jackman and Reub Long. I looked for source to confirm that, but couldn’t find one. However, the Oregon State Fair web-site gives details about the Jackman-Long Building (dimensions, floor space, capacity, etc). A Salem Public Library history web-site confirms that the building was dedicated in August 1976. Even found a photo of the building’s dedication plaque, but nothing that specifically says who the building is named after. There’s a book about Oregon State Fair history that might address how the building got its name; but unfortunately, it not on-line.--Orygun (talk) 00:51, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
