[edit]In his later decades, Bolinger was kind of a thorn in the side of generativists to some degree, but was not really broadly theoretically influential. Also, in the 1950's or late 1940's, he apparently led a city-appointed commission to decide on the English pronunciation of the name of "Los Angeles". If I can figure out which issue of Language his obituary is in, I may add something to the article... AnonMoos (talk) 06:08, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

- I don't have JSTOR access, but I do probably have a physical paper copy of the issue with the obituary (if I knew which one it was, and could find it ). AnonMoos (talk) 16:51, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- I happened to have the December 1992 issue near my computer, and pulled it out, but that has a Hans Kurath obituary... AnonMoos (talk) 16:54, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
