I will review this shortly. Please note that while I am ranked 10th in edits to this article, they were two minor edits in 2021. Therefore, I am still eligible/allowed to review this article. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:21, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Hickory, it's been about a week since the last update, just making sure you didn't have any holdups with any previously mentioned fixes before we can continue the review.

Lead

[edit]
  • Per WP:LEAD, citations aren't common in leads except for controversial/disputed info. I think the following are okay to keep citations but I don't think the rest are really debatable/controversial: he is considered significantly undersized for a goaltender and is currently considered one of the top NHL goaltending prospects and The Hockey Writers ranking him as the number one prospect.  Done

Early life

[edit]
  • I find the wording of the first sentence a bit awkward. Could it possibly be re-worded to: Wolf was born on April 16, 2001, in Gilroy, California, as the only child to parents Mike and Michelle Wolf. Done
  • Also, I recommend moving the Elite Prospects reference to the comma after California as that is the only thing that reference verifies. The second reference could stay at the end  Done
  • Do we have any information about his time with the Los Angeles Junior Kings? I know 104th overall isn't particularly impressive but he must've caught the eye of some scouts to even be drafted. Done
  • I recommend archiving all of these links in case something happens (see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Archive82#New NHL.com development if you want to see what happens when links aren't archived). You can archive these links easily here  Done (Thanks for the tool link, appreciated, I ran into this issue with all the Major-Junior league links while researching this and Mitch Love.)

Playing career

[edit]
  • ...in the Conference Semi-finals of the 2018 WHL playoffs, Carter Hart.... You can remove Carter since you already mentioned his first name earlier.  Done
  • I think you can merge the 2019 playoffs with the first paragraph. I totally get it if you don't want to but to me it makes the page seem too sparse and like there's not a lot of info. By merged I just mean added to the end, not removing info. Done
    • You can also do the same thing with the paragraph about the 2019–20 season and Del Wilson Trophy  Done
    • The information you added to his contract paragraph is really interesting but I think it can also be merged with the one below it. Not done If you're adamant I can change it, but as it's more talking about the offseason, rather than the 2019-20 season, I'd rather keep it seperate.
  • posting the highest save percentage (SV%) and goals against average (GAA). I recommend moving the abbreviations to During his WHL bantam-draft year, Wolf posted a 2.99 goals against average (GAA) and .905 save percentage through seven games with the Junior Kings' bantam AAA team since this is the first mention  Done
  • Seeing as you only have two sentences about the 2019–20 season, I feel like you could add more to it. Maybe include "goalie of the month" [1]  Done (I may add some more here in a little bit, just doing a bit more research.)
  • I absolutely love how you got the jumping photo!  Thank you very much! I'm not a photographer (clearly) but I knew that photo would be good here.
  • Wolf began the 2020–21 season with the Stockton Heat, making his professional debut on February 21, 2021, a 7–1 loss to the Toronto Marlies. But the season started on February 5. Why did it take that long?  Not done that was the Heat's first game of the season. COVID schedule and whatnot [2]
  • Wolf had a standout rookie season - we don't see anything else about this except for his end of season stats. Is there anything else interesting?  Done
  • Do we have anything for the current season? I know it's early so it's okay if you don't but how did he do at camp? Why was he sent back?  Doneish, too early to put too much for this season.

International play

[edit]
  • Please remove the abbreviation for GAA since you've mentioned it above  Done

Wolf jumping during a 2022 warmup
Wolf jumping during a 2022 warmup
  • ... that Dustin Wolf (pictured) has been named his league's goaltender of the year the last four years in a row? Source: "For the second year in a row, the Calgary Wranglers’ Dustin Wolf is the winner of the Aldege ‘Baz’ Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL’s best goalie for the 2022-23 season. It’s the fourth straight year that Wolf has been named the top goalie in his league after he won the Del Wilson Trophy as the WHL’s top shot-stopper while playing for the Everett Silvertips in 2019-20 and ’20-21." [3]
    • ALT1: ... that ice hockey goaltender Dustin Wolf (pictured) is known for his warmup routine, which is concluded by a vertical jump while wearing full gear? Source: "Prior to the start of each stanza, Wolf shakes out his legs and then squats in his crease, loading up to leap as high as he can possibly muster. He gets impressive airtime, especially when you consider all that armour weighing him down."[4]
    • ALT2: ... that ice hockey goaltender Dustin Wolf's on-ice warmup is concluded by a vertical jump while wearing full gear (pictured)? Source: Same as ALT1
    • Reviewed: QPQ NA as less than 5 nominations
    • Comment: For the first hook, I would rather use the second image, included here:
Wolf at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic
Wolf at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic
  • The Alt1 or 2 hook would be better with image included in the main nomination.

Improved to Good Article status by IceBergYYC (talk). Self-nominated at 03:31, 7 November 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Dustin Wolf; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: None required.

Overall: Everything looks alright. Just promoted to GA status. No QPQ needed as this is the nominator's second DYK. Images are alright. Either hook works. BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:11, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
