"On May 27, 2007 while batting against Eric Gagne of the Texas Rangers, Pedroia had a long twelve pitch at bat. After fouling off eight pitches, he hit a home run over the left field wall, securing a 6-5 win for the Red Sox. Despite that homerun, Dustin is still a monatenous 37 homeruns away from tying that of the entire state of South Dakota, which is no small feat for a player whose Big League days (and homerun power) are numbered."

This seems trivial, and the second half is clearly not true.

Reference is much needed in that article. The whole thing about Nomar Garciaparra? You need references, buddy.

Anyone know what his at-bat music is it's driving me crazy, i've been looking online for 2 days now and can't find it. I have to know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.19.223.73 (talk) 18:26, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have been looking for Dustin's at bat music for 3 months ever since I went to a game a Fenway!!! Anyway, in the section about his personal life, it says that he speaks five languages and is a famous magician????. Although I don't exactly doubt that he speaks five languages (that could be true) but I don't really think he is a magician.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redsox15 (talkcontribs) 20:31, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Redsox15 I've been searching since I posted on Sep. 18 and i found it. Dr. Dre - The Wash is Dustin's at-bat music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.244.196.180 (talk) 03:45, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ped-Rock, really? I've never heard this before. Also no mention of laser shows? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.9.238.59 (talk) 02:31, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

Unsourced rumor is unacceptable for a BLP; I can find a source for 5'7", and ESPN's Peter Gammons has said 5'6".

Also, the "ft in to m" template doesn't seem to work here--it rounds to one decimal place, but metric heights are rounded to the nearest centimeter (e.g., 1.75 m for 5'7", not 1.8 m). Samer (talk) 14:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Home Runs

[edit]

He already hit his 29th Home Run. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.50.3.56 (talk) 16:32, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brother

[edit]

Should news about his brother's arrest be included in the article? I'm inclined to say no as Pedroia was not involved in the situation.Wkharrisjr (talk) 19:41, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also Dustin is of Spanish and Italian decent, there may be some Portugese. However he a quarter Spaniard becuase his mother was 1/2 Spainard. Also Brett's arrest has nothing to do with Dustin baseball career, and is a family matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.105.191.210 (talk) 23:45, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If Wiki includes his calling his hometown a dump-it should include he said that because his brother is a convicted child molester and Pedroia blamed the city for his conviction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.116.55 (talk) 16:32, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is Dustin's biography, not his brothers'. The second his brother becomes notable, the conviction will be mentioned there. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:09, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

getting rid of year-by-year sections

[edit]

I feel the current career section of this page is wasteful with space and has too much unnecessary detail. Things like individual hitting streaks or batting averages during postseason series don't really warrant being on Wikipedia. I'm going to cut out some extraneous details and restructure the career section into three bigger sections, I'm thinking first contract (2006-2009), second contract (2009-2013), third contract (2014 onward). This also conveniently splits his career into under 25, 25 to 30, and 30+ age periods. I'll try and cut the level of detail down to more notable events: ROY, MVP, series MVP awards, All-Star appearances, major injuries and operations, major brawls etc RWyn (talk) 11:24, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Even though he only played 3 games in 2018, he got a ring. AlZagaroli (talk) 22:52, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
