Merge proposal

[edit]

It seems like this article and the older Andhra Ratna describe the same person, and are therefore best merged. Sources in English seem to suggest that the name, rather the pseudonym, are in use, so perhaps this article Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya is the better target. I note that Ashwin147 set up this page back in the 2013, even while knowing about the Andhra Ratna page; I'm not sure what the justification was at the time, but perhaps this has changed. The topic is Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya and not the honorific title Andhra Ratna. I created the page because there was no link to the topic and was unaware of an existing page on his honorific title. Besides, this is a better referenced and more detailed article. I suggest that Andhra Ratna be merged with Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya, Klbrain. Ashwin147 (talk) 11:40, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that it's correct that you didn't know about the horofic, as you linked the page in the lede when you created the page in 2013: see this version from 11:03, 30 July 2013‎. Even at the time, the 2013 Andhra Ratna page was exclusively on Shri Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya. Nevertheless, I'm happy to go with Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya, primarily because most of the references in English use this name. Klbrain (talk) 14:41, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that the target should be Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya. Consistent with other Indian independence activists with honorific titles. --Ab207 (talk) 15:33, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
