Dukes of Silesia lists many more duchies, for now I just translated the list from pl wiki. I guess we will sort the mess in the coming months and years... -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  20:50, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Names

[edit]

I have changed the names for Teschen, Oels, Pless and Troppau (these now the current names in the article) to reflect English usage. I didn't change any of the others because I don't know about them as much as I've known about Teschen, Oels, Pless and Troppau. Charles 17:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide evidence to back the above assertions. Thank you, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 22:32, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I changed Polish name for Duchy of Troppau to Czech, because duchy and city itself was not Polish, but Czech.Opava was not part of Polska and in city is not polish minority. Of course I added Czech name for Duchy of Teschen, because duchy and city is divided to Czech and Polish parts. By my opinion, names of Duchies in Silesia may be in all official languages (Polish, Czech and German). By the way, playing with google hits is not historical verification. Protected for a Week

[edit]

Please discuss changes on the talk page rather by leaving messages for each other in edit summaries. You can also use sources rather then blindly reverting each other. Please do not restart this once the protection expires otherwise everyone involved in the edit war will face sanctions. Thank you and happy new year to you all. Thank you for coming to this decision, I realize it is the right one. Charles 22:05, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't violate 3RR in the future. Please wait for results of RM (which you have requested) before changing this page. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 22:11, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did not violate the 3RR, thank you. I have made sure to learn from my previous mistakes, as I have throughout life, such as when I once violated the 3RR a while ago. Noted though. Charles 22:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The closing admin noted you broke the 3RR and that he was generous in not blocking you. So please reconsider your previous statement.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 22:32, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All I can say is that everyone is capable of making a mistake. I appreciate, however, the admin's decision regarding this article and his recommendation for discussion. I do not appreciate being "reminded" by a participant in the "dispute" particularly when I already made note to the admin that I did not break 3RR. Charles 22:37, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to move for unprotection; I believe we have resolved our differences and there should be no more revert warring on this page.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:45, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Factual Error?

[edit]

At the bottom it says, "Following the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire, Bohemian Silesia remained a part of the Austrian Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire down to its dissolution in 1918."

Unless I'm missing something, this isn't true? Silesia remained part of Prussia and later the German Empire until 1918. Is it referring to some small parts that are technically in Silesia that Austria maintained control of?

Honestly I'm confused. 2001:569:FB5D:FF00:836F:5199:3C21:79E6 (talk) 03:36, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You've got it right. It is referring to some small parts of Silesia that remained in Bohemia. I have added a link to Bohemian Silesia. We have an article devoted specifically to the period before 1918 at Austrian Silesia. Srnec (talk) 04:24, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your time and for clearing that up. Have a nice day. 2001:569:FB5D:FF00:836F:5199:3C21:79E6 (talk) 07:30, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
