Change to Dubtronic
[edit]I've heard about Dubgtronic, yes, but Dubtronica sounds not alright.
To PROD dubtronica article
[edit]I suggest PRODding this article. There are several reason reasons for doing so:
- Google.Books returns 1 search result for "Dubtronica" request, and that result is a trivial note on this term: [1]
- I've surfed through first five pages of search results on the term and Google and found only trivial mentions of this term.
- The article itself states that dubtronica is not "universally accepted" as term. This self-critiquous remake, however, sounds like original research as there's no citation provided for it.
- The article's titular sentence states that dubtronica mixes electronica and dub in a subtle way. However, it never further explains what that subtle way is.
- The term is incredibly vague, as dub is electronic music par excellence since the point of its creation.
- Electronica is not a particular genre of music, that makes the term dubtronica even more vague.
- The article linked at the end of this article is both of doubtful notability and still seems the only source of information for this mythical genre -- Appletangerine un (talk) 13:02, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Dubtronica? For real?
[edit]And I was starting to think that minimal dub techno was stretching it and now this? Pretty soon, every electronic track is going to have it's own genre. I say delete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackfeathor (talk • contribs) 03:01, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Pardon but where does bullshit like this originates?
[edit]Everyone knows we are talking DUB TECHNO here -- an universally recognized term used by labels, artists, promoters, word on the street, Discogs and record shops. I've been into this sound since mid-nineties and reading a whole lot on it -- and this is the first time I hear DUBTRONICA -- you gotta be kidding?! Wikipedia is not a place for your inventions or preferences it's about plain straightforward facts. Someone change the title please, I'm so ashamed. Z99 (talk) 21:28, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Alright, so the Google says: about 257,000 for dubtechno / about 233,000 for "dub techno" / about 26,100 for dubtronica
Apparently there's more to it than I initially thought. This article incorporates few rather unrelated things.. Dubtronica may deserve it's own page but it seems to be a very niche concept revolving around a specific forum and the article used as citation uses "dubtronica" in a quotes as about being unsure of the term. I'd need to rewrite this now and probably split the information onto 2 pages albeit interlinked. However it requires much more time and effort than I can afford at the moment especially considering the explosion of dub techno in the last few years..
