How to pronounce?

[edit]

Is there any chance we can get someone to do a pronunciation / read-out-loud thing for this entry? I, a native english speaker, haven't the foggiest notion of how to approach that name. --BSweezy 01:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

His name also appears, Englished and Latinised to various degrees, as Duald Mac Firbis, Dudly Ferbisie, and Dualdus Firbissius. Angus McLellan (Talk) 19:48, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Doo-uhl-tock Moc Feer-bish-ig is an approximation of how it is pronounced (the 'k' in the 'tock' section is soft), if that helps anyone with IPA knowledge but no Irish to come up with a pronounciation guide. ANB (talk) 20:45, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
/ˈduːəltəx mɑk ˈir'viʃiː/ or /ˈfir'viʃiː/ if spelt with unlenited "f" (i.e. Mac Firbhisigh) which is also common.Murchadh (talk) 03:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
