Parallels with Chewin' the Fat?

Does anyone else think Dry Your Eyes has borrowed extensively from Chewin' the Fat in terms of its format? I'm thinking particularly about the dependence on characters and catchphrases as well as the heavy doses of regional humour. Could this go in the article?
