Proposed mergers

[edit]

Laurel Bush (talk) 10:30, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Or maybe Controlled substance should be a redirect to Substance control, with the latter as disambig page reading:
Substance control may refer to:
Drug control law, especially in the United States
Regulation of chemicals, controls with respect to toxic substances

Article move

[edit]

I am about to move the article to Drug prohibition law because I feel now that its current position may represent some misuse of the term controlled drug
It seems to me now that a controlled drug is a drug which would be prohibited except that it is used under licence, for example, by medical professionals

Move done

Drug control law article needed?

[edit]

Seems to me an article is needed at Drug control law, currently a redirect to Drug prohibition law
Many drugs outside the scope of 'prohibition' laws are still controlled
In the UK, even over-the-counter drugs like aspirin and paracetamol are subject to legal controls, and there are prescription-only drugs which are not within the scope the Misuse Drugs Act (the UK's 'drug prohibition' legislation)

Propose Merge

[edit]

This article of low quality, and doesn't seem to have a distinguishing scope from Prohibition of drugs. I propose that it be merged into Prohibition of drugs and redirected to that page. Sondra.kinsey (talk) 22:48, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This seems reasonable to me. Sizeofint (talk) 01:14, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely, this is a terrible article, and many pages pointed here, like "international drug control"... which is quite scary. Will do the merger & redirection now. Teluobir (talk) 21:32, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
