Until 23 December 2018, the first sentence of this article began "The Drimolen Palaeocave System consists of a series of a terminal Pliocene to early Pleistocene hominin-bearing palaeocave fills". On that date, I searched academic articles on Google Scholar for the term "terminal Pliocene" which has about 250 hits. I also searched academic articles on Google Scholar for "latest Pliocene" which has about 3,850 hits. Both terms seem to be valid, but "latest Pliocene" is the much more widely used term. Therefore, on that date I changed "terminal Pliocene" to "latest Pliocene" in the article's first sentence. My edit was reverted on 3 March 2019 by editor 149.144.218.55 with an edit summary of "latest Pliocene is not a valid term, terminal Pliocene is a recognized scientific term". I think that editor's reasoning is incorrect. I'm seeking consensus on which version ("terminal Pliocene" or "latest Pliocene") should be used in this article. Any comments?
