Page Creation

[edit]

I have created a very quick page for Doug Russell. I was very surprised that nothing had been done on him given that at the time in the '68 olympics his battle with Mark Spitz for gold in the 100 butterfly was a big topic poolside. Spitz had beaten Russel something like 9 or ten times before in the event, in the year leading up to the olympics. At one stage they held the world record jointly for the distance prior to the olympics. I will try and track down some stats and references and work on this article over the coming weeks. Some of the footers need work and I will try and get to that as well. {Boroughswimmer (talk) 11:29, 12 January 2008 (UTC)}[reply]

Changed the link in the templates to douglas Russell - i started the article as Douglas Russell as that was easist for me. However if people think it should be Doug Russell (swimmer) then thats fine I just did it that way because it was easiset and I thought this needs to be done to get under way.Hope thats alright ? Like I pointed out above I have a fair bit of stuff for an expanded article on Doug but wanted to get something up and will then be able to work at it slowly. again if this isnt the way things are a done my apologies. {Boroughswimmer (talk) 11:48, 12 January 2008 (UTC)}[reply]
