location / pics of round barn

[edit]
Pic by Optimistmb, is this the right place?

I was just adding to the stub article on Dorough Round Barn and Farm, and I used Google maps' satellite view to find what I thought was the round barn, which I found on Hickory Level Road. Google's satellite view indicates it is 2016 imagery. At coordinates: 33°42′04″N 84°58′07″W / 33.701235°N 84.968505°W / 33.701235; -84.968505 (Dorough Round Barn and Farm).

But then I come across Optimistmb's photo, which is used at the National Register of Historic Places listings in Carroll County, Georgia list-article, showing it pretty much demolished. Could these be two different round barns? The NRHP nomination document mentions 4 existing in Georgia. I asked Optimistmb to comment here. --doncram 19:19, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you found it. According to https://www.gnahrgis.org, it is located along (NE) Hickory Level Road just near where Pleasant Grove Road splits off. And according to http://www.carrollcountyhistory.org/villarica.html, it's definitely in bad shape (as far as I can tell, that was written in 2013, but there description might be based on the same photo.) I'm inclined to believe the photo is the real one. kennethaw88talk 21:37, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The building at the coordinates mentioned is on the wrong side of the road and around a half mile from the old barn. It may be a silo or water tank. I was looking at Google's satellite imagery and it appears that the barn has been removed. In my photo, the dilapidated barn is still there in the trees just extremely hard to see.
