Donovan as a given name
[edit]I just heard Donovan the musician describe how his father came upon choosing the name Donovan for his son, and how the guy from the register told him that was a last name and he couldn't use that, but was eventually convinced. If you look at the list of people with Donovan as a given name, all but one were born after the success of Donovan the singer. So it looks like the name was really popularized by him.
