As the fire range was being used by A-10 Thunderbolts for cannon practice and the A-10s have a GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling gun, which fires depleted uranium armor-piercing shells, is there any publicly available information on the health risks? Does anyone know whether the Freedom of Information Act could be used to request information from the MoD or is it not applicable? Thanks, E Asterion u talking to me? 00:35, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which firing range are you referring to? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.92.168.167 (talkcontribs)

Donna Nook, of course: "In 1988 and 1989 the primary users of the range (numerically at least) were the A-10's from RAF Bentwaters, down the Suffolk coast, and RAF Alconbury. The pilots of these attack aircraft would spend quite a bit of time raking the sand with cannon fire." (taken from http://www.maclean-nj.com/aircraft/donnanook.htm). There are some references now. I'm making it a C, it is fairly complete, although not incapable of improvement.--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 13:45, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
