Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this academic was inducted as a Fellow of the Linguistic Society of America, which is a quite honorable way to be recognized for one's research achievements. I will be happy to add more information about this person's research --Ambrca (talk) 05:14, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Ambrca: Thanks for helping with this insight. Please note that per the WP:NACADEMIC, a person would need to be a member of a major scholarly society and Linguistic Society of America is instead a Learned society, which by definition 'exists to promote an academic discipline or profession'. - This is simply my observation.
In any regards, please do once refer to WP:ACADEMIC and help with any further references that may have been missed.
Thanks.
