After acquiring the BS

[edit]

It looks as if a sentence is missing. Where did Mr. Shell acquire the BS? Riordanmr (talk) 23:47, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This has been fixed sometime in the last 13 years. Riordanmr (talk) 16:49, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement

[edit]

I am Donald Shell's son. I wrote http://krypton.mnsu.edu/~geneal/shell-donald_bio.htm which could be used as a reference. (but I don't know how to apply it as a reference.) As of August 2010, Dad is in reasonable health for his age. Mom died at 47, and Dad remarried. My step-mother died six years ago, and Dad remarried again at the age of 81. Last month (7/10) they celebrated their 5.0th wedding anniversary. They choose to celebrate 5.0 because the 50th anniversary is pretty far away and neither Dad nor my new step mother have had the opportunity to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary.

I added the "Marriages" subsection because I believe it is significant to the Dad's story.

Marriages Section

[edit]

I don't think that particular section adheres to wiki's guidelines. Neither do comments such as that a woman "brought children to the marriage". Those are chauvinistic and are not proper to an encyclopaedia. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 17:34, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Compiler Design with LLVM

[edit]

This article contains a link to a description of a course entitled "Compiler Design with LLVM". However, that course, and its description, seem to have nothing to do with either Donald Shell or Shellsort. Does anyone know why this link exists in this article? Riordanmr (talk) 16:46, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Since a year has gone by and no one has explained the link to "Compiler Design with LLVM", I removed it. Riordanmr (talk) 22:05, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
