PLAGIARISM

[edit]

The complete text is taken directly and literally from the liner notes of "The Essential Donald Byrd". Could someone please rephrase this? 82.176.211.33 14:51, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead?

[edit]

On the 7th of February the page was edited saying he had died on the 4th of February. However there are no sources on teh greater Interwebz backing up that claim. I find it hard to believe that none of the jazz periodicals online would carry an obituary, let alone any of the US newspapers I could find. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Voss (talkcontribs) 19:02, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's in the news, in multiple outlets (Guardian, Huffington Post etc.), but as of this writing, the single source is a Facebook post from a nephew. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:57, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sideman section

[edit]

It would be nice if someone formatted Byrd's sideman appearances in a way similar to Elvin Jones.Cosprings (talk) 19:52, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Importance

[edit]

I think mid is more appropriate than High for DB. He wasn't on a par with say Freddie Hubbard (High) IMO, led alone Miles (who has naturally been ranked as Top), but he was more than a journeyman (or minor) player. Philip Cross (talk) 17:38, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
