Controversial Appointment

The reason I reverted the edits by a user who detailed the controversy behind Willett's nomination is for two reasons: (1) such extensive quoting from a newspaper brings about copyright problems and violates Wikipedia policy about creating original pages, not just cut-and paste jobs; (2) the extensive quoting created an undue emphasis on that single point, which violates Wikipedia policy about how to balance biographical pages.

That controversy is an interesting story and should be part of the page. But it needs to be summarized. The whole thing could be a few sentences. Also, if he was blocked from being appointed originally, who was appointed in his place? I'm guessing Phil Johnson. Sources needed

We need some sources for the original research on this page. Without them, this appears to be autobiographical or a vanity page. Also, the personal references to children on the way are endearing, but they are personal trivia, not of value in an encyclopedic article.

A great deal of the info comes from the Texas Supreme Court site and Willett's campaign site. I don't know how exactly they are to be used in citations.--Smashingworth 19:31, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And it looks like you have no interest in allowing a simple, non-NPOV page to exist unmolested. I created the page to provide some info on Willet, as I have done with most of the Texas Supreme Court Justices. Why don't you go back to distributing flyers for Moody?
