I'm the Slime

[edit]

I didn't see an entry that documented his lending his distinctive voice, most appropriately, to Frank Zappa's recording of "I'm the Slime," along with Tina Turner and the Ikettes (just to keep things interesting).Carlaclaws (talk) 04:29, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No photo on a Wikipedia page about a person who's known almost only for his voice... Heh. —THIS IS MESSEDOCKER (TALK) 02:17, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His IMDB page[1] has a picture, but its copyright status should be investigated before copying. --Davecampbell 00:13, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Art Fleming (May 1, 1924 – April 25, 1995) was the early host of "Jeopardy"; he was also in the "Weird Al" video of "I Lost on Jeopardy". Hugh Downs was the original host of "Concentration" <Hugh Downs Biography (1921-) http://www.filmreference.com/film/85/Hugh-Downs.html#ixzz0y9EDOn00>. Interview with Don Pardo

[edit]

There is an interview with Don Pardo from 2006 on YouTube (part 1 of 8), conducted by the Archive of American Television. It is quite elaborate, going into very many details about his life. This interview could certainly be used to greatly expand this article. Gordon P. Hemsley 04:29, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pardo very clearly announced the upcoming season last week, and is very clearly announcing on the program this evening. It seems that he has not retired. I have not seen any actual reports, though. Sahasrahla (talk) 03:53, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Listed last in tonight's closing credits was "Announcer Don Pardo". He's not gone anywhere. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:10, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

His voice sounded very pre-recorded though. Surely NBC is still not flying him out for each telecast are they? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.53.244.52 (talk) 01:16, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Five years later, I answer: This isn't really for random discussion, but because the following data might be sourcable and added, I believe he ended up having a studio at his home in Arizona the last years, I believe I caught a profile of him a couple years back that said that. I'll look and see if I can find a source, and what we say if anything about it in the article right now. --j⚛e deckertalk 01:26, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
