Possible mingling of info on two Don Kennedys ??

[edit]

I have a question about this article, and I'm not sure how to go about correcting it. I think there is info about two different men named Don Kennedy in this article. The one I'm familiar with started as a booth announcer at Atlanta TV station WSB in the 1950's, became a popular kid's show host, then owned radio stations, then acted and did voice-over work for Cartoon Network, and currently has the syndicated Big Band Jump radio program. He did not act in westerns in the 40's and on scripted TV in the 60's. Certainly the Don Kennedy who acted in episodes of the Monkees and Gomer Pyle is not the Atlanta Don Kennedy. What needs to be done to correct this? Royath (talk) 08:44, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

Donald J. Kennedy died on June 29, 2023, at the age of 93. His daughter Rebecca Maple reported that her father had been suffering from dementia following a stroke in 2015. No memorial service was planned. See "'Officer Don' Kennedy, Atlanta children's show host, dies at 93". Atlanta Journal-Constitution. 2023-06-30.
