[edit]

Hello, last night (4 Feb 2006) there was an interview with Dominick Dunne with Larry King, and he stated that he still writes for Vanity Fair -- some writings are in the upcoming issues. So the entry describing Mr. Dunne no longer writes for VF should be corrected.

Thanks, V.A. Churchill, Houston

This article mentions that he's "writing through his illness" but it doesn't mention what illness he has. - (Sept. 13, 2008) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.211.160.121 (talk) 18:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the link for Ash Wednseday is wrong. If it links at all, the link should be to Ash Wednesday, starring Elizabeth Taylor & Henry Fonda, et al made in 1973, not whatever that movie is to which it currently links.

Middle name?

[edit]

Does anyone know what his middle name was? I've seen it listed as starting with "J". All Hallow's (talk) 23:59, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citations are needed

[edit]

THis article has very few citations. To get things started, here is a article written by Dunn where he mentions his for his service in WWII. http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/2008/10/dunne200810 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Root Beers (talkcontribs) 18:47, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy Doody

[edit]

Dunne's job as stage manager of the Howdy Doody show ought to be mentioned. Unfree (talk) 19:52, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hartford Circus Fire

[edit]

Wasn't he a survivor of the Hartford Circus Fire during World War II? 45750born (talk) 12:16, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was gay - doesn't this merit mention?

[edit]

In his last book, Too Much Money, Nick Dunne's alter ego, Gus Bailey, admits to his lawyer that he is closeted and says a man should not die with a secret. His son Griffin was interviewed after the book was posthumously published and didn't disagree - just remarked how his father had been celibate for twenty years.

If Nick Dunne felt okay coming out of the closet towards the end of his life - I don't think it was a big secret - why doesn't he get the tag of prominent gay writers? 216.189.162.144 (talk) 07:49, 10 May 2010 (UTC)FanofNickDunne[reply]

Perhaps because he wasn't prominently gay? Besides, I hardly think his son's "non-disagreement" constitutes a real reference on the subject. He actually said in that interview that they never really discussed the matter.  Frank  |  talk  10:44, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
According to Fresh Air on NPR, Dunne referred to himself as bisexual in a London Times article (circa 2/09 methinks). The Times site has a paywall though, so someone with an account needs to verify the quote.cdpanic (talk) 09:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dominick Dunne was gay

[edit]

Dominick Dunne was gay, and this should be mentioned in the article. He came out in a letter mentioned here. The 'marriage' to his 'wife' was a marriage of convenience.

Simpson trial

[edit]

Article should include that Dunne was not permitted in the courtroom. 74.222.204.86 (talk) 03:38, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
