Copyvio

[edit]

I reverted this page to an old edit because I strongly suspected copyright violation (I just couldn't find proof). If it is not, revert back. --Douglas Whitaker 21:55, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We were contacted on OTRS about this article (OTRS ticket #2006072310012554). User:Dominicaninfo is a PR employee of this school. The version she wrote is not a copyvio (to that end, I've reverted to old version), although it is in sore need of some wikilinking. Raul654 00:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV issues and references

[edit]

I just did a major NPOV overhaul of the article, though more could be done. What this article really needs, though, is cited expansion and perhaps some pictures. On the first front, I'd recommend editors peruse Dominican College and Dominican University hits at books.google.com. Just skimming the first few hits it's evident that there's a bunch of good content out there. The university is more than a century old; I'm sure there is plenty of interesting history worth posting in this article. If there are any Dominican University students or faculty who happen by this article, meanwhile, and you have pictures you've taken of the campus that you'd like posted here, please do so. • I've removed the unreferenced template, as I've found a page on Dominican's website that has the same text as was contributed to this article by the Dominican PR rep. I also put in a cite for the former name of the university, which I added to the article. Please feel free to improve the manner in which the sources are cited, and to find more information to add to the article. If you think that the unref tag or another cleanup-type tag should remain, feel free to add one to the article; but I'm pretty sure that all the info has references now, albeit poorly formatted. (I wasn't quite sure how to make the citations pretty, partially because one of the sources covers the vast majority of the article.) Speight 06:32, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PR Piece

[edit]

This article is straight up PR by Dominican--ie, free advertising via Wikipedia. I'm going to take a meataxe to it. Tapered (talk) 18:55, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Page needs a lot of work. I've tagged it for COI, advertising and too few third party sources. Feel free to sharpen up your meat ax again. The other option would be to just revert all the edits, but that would catch non-promotional edits in the crossfire. Paris1127 (talk) 06:07, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "Campus" section and replacement with "Basic information" section

[edit]

An unregistered editor is insisting that this article's "Campus" section be replaced with a "Basic information" section. He or she is doing so with no discussion or edit summaries so don't his or her rationale. But deleting a necessary section and replacing it with one that merely repeats - verbatim - what is already in the lede of the article is so unhelpful and disruptive that I'm comfortable treating it as vandalism until this editor begins communicating with us.
