ALBUM LAYOUT

[edit]

wikipedia clearly states in its guidelines how albums should be formatted and how track listings should be displayed. "wp:albums". i cant understand why people keep reverting back to the table layouts. its frustrating, annoying, childish and silly. im trying to modify this article for the better by displaying it properly. people who revert the layout back are just going against the whole point of wikipedia. Inside Man

[edit]

The critical reception isn't neutral, and especially because all the criticism of the song "Inside Man" isn't relevant because the song only appeared on demo cds given to reviewers and was removed from retail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.236.11 (talk) 08:19, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources/References

[edit]

Why is metro lyrics used as a reliable reference but youtube isnt? anyone can upload the lyrics and say that pussycat dolls sing them... there's no proof that they've actually been recorded by PCD!!!! (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:01, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I Hate This Part

[edit]

This is a single, and is charting, why has its page been deleted and now redirects back --Wilsontoddlive (talk) 01:27, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For anyone who doubts it, the single has writing credits from kara dioguardi, somebody keeps altering this. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:24, 7 April 2009 (UTC))[1][reply]

People keep altering this because Kara DioGuardi did NOT co-write "I Hate This Part." The album's liner-notes do not list her as a co-writer of "I Hate This Part," or at all in the song's credits. The album liner notes are a more reliable source than that BMI link. Nowhere else on the internet does it state that Kara DioGuardi co-wrote 'I Hate This Part.' Kara DioGuardi only contributed to 'Who's Gonna Love You,' and 'Love the Way You Love Me.' If the album's liner-notes do not credit her as a co-writer, then she is not.

Just because ONE website lists her name with the song does not mean it can serve as a source that she co-wrote it. Did it ever occur to you that this one site is incorrect? Elsewhere, on websites like AllMusic, RollingStone and Billboard, only Hector, Lucas, Jeberg, and Hansen are credited as co-writers. These are obviously reliable sources. That link is obviously wrong - especially since it does not list ANY of the songwriters who were actually credited in the album, like Jonas Jeberg, etc...AND it also lists Rich Harrison as being a songwriter as well. You aren't arguing that HE should be credited with co-writing the song, you are just desperately lobbying for Kara to be included. There is obviously some bias in your assumption that Kara DioGuardi, although officially uncredited, contributed to this song. There are countless websites that credit Hector, Lucas, Jeberg and Hansen as the sonqwriters and only one that has DioGuardi. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.96.214.74 (talk) 06:09, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps there are actually two songs of the same title? BMI is a reliable source, but so are the CD lner notes.--Design (talk) 10:44, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The version that BMI lists with K Dioguardi and Nicole Scherzinger as writers was a version that was recorded for Nicole's debut album Her Name Is Nicole. Billboard does indeed only confirm Hansen, M./Hector, W./Jeberg, J./Lucas as the writers for the song. [2] (Lil-unique1 (talk) 11:18, 19 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Elevator

[edit]

The song elevator is false it`s a song sung by Flo Rida and Timbaland . So why are they listed as producers —Preceding unsigned comment added by .

There IS a song on the album called "Elevator", so it's not 'false'...though I don't know that it was produced by Flo Rida and Timbaland...that seems unlikely, though... 67.181.209.186 (talk) 07:51, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elevator features backing vocals from Lady GaGa and was also co-written by her as she has confirmed so many times. It is also listed in the CD's audio booklet. why mention it earlier in the article if it is not going to be updated? (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:00, 19 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Just say yes

Its been confirmed on various site the "just say yes" song from HNIN to be on Doll domination, but wikipedia keeps taking it off, its not right to only have UK version on wikipedia (Tracklistings) Not US one becuase its a bonus track for america only On deluxe editions so please leave it there Xdarkxbrainx (talk) 19:32, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Provide a source. Until then it's unconfirmed. Charmed36 (talk) 19:33, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Just Say Yes" has been confirmed on Target that its gonna be on the Special Edition of Doll Domination. http://www.target.com/Dol-Domination-Special-Pussycat-Dolls/dp/B001ET8148/sr=1-3/qid=1222050801/ref=sr_1_3/602-2243355-8747050?ie=UTF8&index=music&field-original-keywords=doll%20domination&rh=k%3Atool%20combination&page=1

It'll be on the Import Deluxe Edition. Anyways, its on the Special Edition of it which will come out in Target on September 30th. So I'm guessing its a Target Special Bonus Track. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jraz1206ablao (talkcontribs) 23:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Will the song be downloadable if its true? Iwent to wal mart yesterday9/23/08 didn't have it im upset I might go to target today 9/24 and buy the deluxe version but doesn deluxe have bonus tracks for US? And I hope just say yes it downloadable at target wait it will be imported from where like Lalal land or magic pcd world? I mean how many versions kan there be deluxe special and standard what else the ultamate edition?Xdarkxbrainx (talk) 19:26, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Just Say Yes" was recorded by Nicole Scherzinger for "Her Name Is Nicole", it was then re-recorded by Pussycat Dolls but not released. There are rumours of a tour edition of the album which could feature this and also their version of "Bad Girl" (Confessions of Shopaholic Soundtrack). Collectors Edition

[edit]

I think it's called the Collectors Edition, not the Duluxe Edition. Cause here in Australia thats what its called. Unless that's what its only called in AUS. I found various soruce that refer only in Australia. Source 1 Source 2 Source 3. Can anyone explain this, and if was only called "Collectors Edition" in Australia should we include it in the article. Also I think the bonus tracks are on the second disc, not the first. Might wanna fix that, or was that only in Australia it happened. And also "Baby Love" is a bonus track on iTunes Store in Australia i think :|. So might want to include that too. --BatterWow (talk) 11:22, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Well in New Zealand its labeled the Deluxe Edition, and considering New Zealand imports the majority of albums from Aussie...wel yea... Also a strange fact i noted, on the back it says one of the bonus tracks is 'Lights Camera, Action' w/ New Kids, but after i listened to it, it was the baby love remix, a printing mistake of the record company possibly? --Wilsontoddlive (talk) 03:22, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I bought it and it was that "Light, Camera, Action" song. Must of been a mis-print. DUnno what happened there. --BatterWow (talk) 14:58, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cee-Lo

If Cee-Lo Green worked on tracks for this album, which ones? Did they make the final track listing?--Design (talk) 09:15, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception

[edit]

I absolutely hate the way this section is written. According to metacritic, the album has received mixed critical reception. However, editors have taken it upon themselves to write that the reviews are negative, and the section now only represents negative reviews. I have changed it a million times, and every time i come back to this page, it's been reverted. The sign is gonna stay until I have time to rewrite the section and represent both good and positive views of the album. Constantly reverting the section will be seen as vandalism, for which there will be consequences. Orane (talk) 02:42, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I absolutely hate the way Metacritic chooses certain reviews. The fact is that if Metacritic would actually include all reviews it would be without question in the negative review section. I mean for god sakes about 75% of reviews on metacritic are "generally positive" with the rest being "mixed or average". there are only 11 albums in metacritic's entire database that got "negative reviews". Rvk41 (talk) 10:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added a new review from digital spy. please read because i think this helps to resolve the problem of neutrality. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 10:57, 14 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

International Bonus Tracks

[edit]

I live in the UK, and the only bonus tracks I have are "Light's Camera, Action", and "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps". It doesn't include all the tracks listed on the International Bonus Tracks section, and I've seen scans of the tracklist from different country's, and they don't either, but I don't know what county's their from. When is a single not a single?

[edit]

Please see discussion at talk page for Pussycat Dolls discography. "Top of the world" was released as a single on iTunes, with its own cover art. Should it not be listed here as a single from Doll Domination 2.0?--Design (talk) 11:47, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • It is a promotional single only... (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:34, 28 March 2009 (UTC)).[reply]
    • How can it be a "promotional single only" if it can be purchased as a single? Doesn't "promotional" mean that it is sent to media outlets only, and not on sale to the public? Please see discussion at discoprraphy.--Design (talk) 04:42, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Top of The World is not a single because it has no video and no physical release. also it hasnt been performed live by the dolls unlike jai ho. it is only a promotional release due to its use as the theme for mtv show, the city. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:57, 31 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]
  • No video and no physical release does not disqaulify it from being a 'single'. Digital only releases are counted, as verified by the reference I cited from Billboard's website. Billboard are a reputable source of data on this issue.--Design (talk) 08:13, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doll Domination 2.0

[edit]

I have removed the track-listing, please do not re-add for the following reason:

  • walmart initially said the album would be released april 14, but then moved the date to may --> sign that information is inaccurate
  • iTunes list all of the songs (including the new ones) under doll domination --> hinting that all of the songs might appear on the re-release
  • interscope has yet to reveal an official tracklisting.
  • Target.com and walmart list different release dates hence the date released will be removed from the article.
  • amazon also lists a different release date and tracklisting.
  • cover-art has been removed because it has NOT been officially confirmed. AMAZON, TARGET and WALMART all show a different cover art, until confirmed please dont re-add.

Changes from April 2009 +

[edit]

As regular viewers/editors of the page can see, there have been many significant changes recently. However i am now concerned about the fluidity and navigation of the page. There could be a better way of arranging the information. All of it is useful. Please discuss improvements that could be made. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:28, 28 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

2.0 question

[edit]

When was Doll Domination 2.0 released in Australia, On April 24 or April 27......some sources say April 24 [1] [2]...and some say April 27 [3].......which one is the correct one.....i think its better to just put April 2009...since some say 24 and others say 27........

why does this source [4] for the australian edition has a different track listing......which track listing is the correct one?...............cause this tracklist is also on the australian iTunes

the version you are referring to on iTunes is the download-only version. i should really add it to the article as "Australian Download Version" and the other version included should be listed as "Australian CD version" but im too tired from all of the editing. Im too tired to add a seperate version. Someone should do it though. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 12:02, 10 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

oh ok, ill add it......but why is it on this site [5], if its download-only for iTunes..?

sorry i meant it is download-release only but not exclusive to itunes. the one with 10 songs is the "australian CD version". the other one is the "Australian download version" available from many retailers, but only as a download release. i think download was released april 24, and cd on 27th though im not sure. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 12:43, 10 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

sorry, i made a mistake, in the australian iTunes Doll Domination 2.0 has only 10 tracks.......i just checked...[6]..86.96.227.86 (talk) 12:50, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

.........

i dont know if this should be mentiond....but on the discussion section, on the official PCD website......a user who lives in australia, posted on April 23 that he just bought Doll Domination 2.0.....[7]......shall i change the released date to april 23? 86.96.227.86 (talk) 12:59, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

no, fan pages/discussion threads are not official sources. stick to as the article is. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 13:04, 10 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Doll Domination 2.0 / Revised Edition

[edit]

This is to clear up the problems and questions people have about the album.

Doll Domination: released in septemeber 2008. As of may 2009 there are several different versions to be noted (do not get them confused)

  1. Doll Domination: Standard version.
  2. Doll Domination: Standard version with bonus tracks.
  3. Doll Domination: Deluxe edition (includes bonus disk of individual doll's songs)
  4. Doll Domination: Collectors edition (same as deluxe edition but with two bonus tracks also included).
  5. Doll Domination: Revised version French Release, German Release. This IS NOT the same as doll domination 2.0. It is the original album plus the new songs recorded. notice that the cover is the same as the standard version
  6. Doll Domination 2.0: this is released ONLY in Australia and is different to revised version HENCE it features a different cover. It is only currently available in AUSTRALIA. no release elsewhere has been official confirmed.
  7. Doll Domination: The Mini Collection: was released specifically in the UK and is an EP-compilation of 3 songs from Doll Domination plus 3 new songs.

All of this information is sourced. please do not confused and alter the article. (Lil-unique1 (talk) 17:14, 17 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]
