Removed statement
[edit]Sorry, but I felt I had to remove the statement because doesn't make any sense. I'm not deny the possibility that the Dogan Group has an undue influence on the Turkish political scene, but the quoted sentence need to make some sense. Moreover the article stats that that was true up to 2000s.
Moreover the article is ridden with other incongruences like: It is not possible to express views on a wide range of issues, including the rights of Kurds to have a separate state in Turkey; yet it is placed in the category of not-free countries in terms of freedom of the press. Or even better: Allegations that the phones of Sept. 11 victims were hacked are being investigated by the FBI. This could hold serious repercussions for Murdoch and his team.
However, no one is raising their voice in the West; no one is taking action, claiming that freedom of the press has been violated.
Well, if you can't talk about a subject, is clear that the freedom of press is limited.
If any other editor feels they need that information included, they could write something along the lines of "Mr.Bahan in the Zaman stated that....". Or even better, find better references. --Dia^ (talk) 06:09, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
