Question

Is this the guy descended from the Hanbali community which fled Nablus in the twelfth century? He wrote "The cited tales of the wondrous doings of the Shaykhs of the Holy Land", recently edited by Daniela Talmon-Heller. She gives his name as "Diya' al-Din Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad b. 'Abd al-Wahid al Maqdisi (569/1173-643/1245)". Adam Bishop (talk) 20:23, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Adam Bishop, he most certainly is. Drory, 1988, gives the whole family three, on page 107. Diya al-Dins maternal grandfather was the father of Ibn Qudamah, ie Ibn Qudamah was his maternal uncle, Huldra (talk) 21:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it has helped that (at least me!!) ...that Talmon-Heller has put her writings online: very helpful. On another note, shouldn't it be the brother, Balian of Ibelin who should be mentioned (and not Baldwin of Ibelin) in the article, as it was Balian of Ibelin who was lord of Nablus?
