Is a distributed application defined as accessible from a web browser? Maybe this page should be joined together with "Thin Client"? (or software running on a webserver, rather than a desktop software program? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.137.90.147 (talk) 18:34, June 3, 2006 (UTC)

This article is unjustly redirected to Distributed computing.
Distributed Applications can be software running on multiple computers. These can be applications like running in hospitals and other service oriented organization, where three people are working on the same record, editing different aspects like:
1: Inserting an appointment
2: Logging data (like the conclusion of a conversation or the results of a medical exam)
3: Changing date (like an address)

Distributed Computing is more related to handling processes on multiple machines.
