Hold on
[edit]This is undoubtedly an important page. India faces territorial issues with at least three of its neighbours. I am currently on tour for next four days from today onwards. After that I pledge to help support this article with refs. Please do not speedily-delete it. AshLin (talk) 16:14, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

sourcing is required for the disputes for nepal blangladesh and sri lanka, also im going to take the liberty of moving the the resolved territorial disputes and putting them under a new former territorial disputes section
[edit]Sri Lanka
[edit]i think we are fine on the sri lanka issue, as the Indian government has stated that “No territory belonging to India was ceded nor sovereignty relinquished since the area was in dispute and had never been demarcated” and that the dispute on the status of the island was settled in 1974 by an agreement, and both countries took into account historical evidence and legal aspects.
also, the Tamil govt does not have the authority to make claims on sovereignty, that power is under the national govt, which doesn't put a claim to Kachchatheevu.

Nepal
[edit]the nepal territorial issue does not have sources, so i dont think we can list it as resolved until sourcing is provided, so i will fix that.
Bangladesh
[edit]the bangladesh issue, i think we should hold off on declaring resolved until the the treaty is signed, which is expected in june 2015 on modi's visit to bangladesh, even though the parliament has passed the bill. I have left it as it as saying resolved for now, b/c i dont want to do it unilaterally, we should have a discussion over changing it to resolved now, or wait until treaty signed in june, till them im just moving it to the former territorial disputes section. also bangladesh section has to be looked into b/c the agreement was over enclaves, im not sure about the status of Boraibari, also New Moore / South Talpatti should be resolved, as the sandbar no longer exists, see source : http://www.smh.com.au/environment/climate-change/rising-sea-level-settles-border-dispute-20100324-qwum.html

edit: after doing some research it would seem the Boraibari area is included under the land swap deal. Source: http://www.asianage.com/india/bangladesh-land-swap-deal-agp-calls-bandh-says-pm-modi-betrayed-people-374
