When?

[edit]

Is Disability Pride Week (or other Disability Pride events) celebrated/held on a specified week? Is it consistent across the different places it's celebrated/the different groups that celebrate it? Info on this topic would be good to add to the article, with citations. V2Blast (talk) 21:54, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea either and tried searchin but can find no details on this; tho Disability Pride Month is July... Shardok (talk) 20:03, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AFreshStart have you seen this? I did a bit of digging after I added the "unreferenced" tag and found these sources. I hope you'll find (some of) them usable. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:57, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name gives confusion

[edit]

I knowtisch on the internet like Twitter that the name gives many confusion and people think with the name Pride on the LGBTHQ community. So would it not better to use: Disabillity Awareness Month? 2001:1C03:491A:D900:1BB:1688:C5F5:18C (talk) 18:24, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, because that's a different month--most places with a Disability Awareness Month celebrate it in March. Disability Pride Month/Week/Day has been its name (with varying length cutoffs) for 30 years. Not any more confusing than confusing gay pride and... IDK... biblical pride? Further, this isn't really the place to discuss why it's Disability Pride Month per WP:NOTFORUM; Wikipedia describes what the sources say, it doesn't synthesize the information itself. - Purplewowies (talk) 04:52, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
