original research e synthesis
[edit]No source in the article support that the "Revolutionary Directorate of 13 March" and the "Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil" are the same organization.
Two sources I found claim otherwise:
- this source says that the "Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil" was created and founded by the CIA in 1960.
- this source (in Spanish) says that the "Directorio Revolucionario 13 de marzo" was founded in 1955 by José Antonio Echeverría and ceased to exist in 1961 when it merged with the 26th of July Movement and the Popular Socialist Party to create a political party (Integrated Revolutionary Organizations ).
Apparently they are not the same organization: This seems to be a case of WP:Synthesis. --Fontaine347 (talk) 17:21, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- "Since the group's founding on the University of Havana campus in early 1960, it had been receiving funding, training, and logistical support for its leaders, thanks to a CIA officer named David Atlee Phillips [...] In the early Sixties, the DRE was at the cutting edge of the Cuban resistance movement. Founded by Alberto Muller, Ernesto Travieso, and Juan Manuel Salvat, the Directorate was born during a march protesting the visit to Havana of Soviet envoy Anastas Mikoyan in February 1960. [...]"
- The source clearly says that the group was founded in 1960, not 1954. --Fontaine347 (talk) 17:34, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, according to https://www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.31819/9783968691329-011/pdf they are different groups CubanoBoi (talk) 01:46, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
Split proposal
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Consensus to split as proposed. @CubanoBoi and Fontaine347: I asked for a technical move to get the draft into mainspace; it would be great if you could help disambiguate the mentions and incoming wikilinks. Felix QW (talk) 20:40, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
As stated above the Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil and Directorio Revolucionario 13 de marzo are two different things. CubanoBoi (talk) 01:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
- Strongly Support: in the current situation, the article is doing original research. --Fontaine347 (talk) 15:32, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
- @CubanoBoi and Fontaine347: Would it be possible for you to prepare drafts of what the two pages should contain after the split? Felix QW (talk) 10:33, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, I’ll do for the Directorio Revolucionario 13 de marzo at Draft:Directorio Revolucionario 13 de Marzo. CubanoBoi (talk) 13:55, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
