Confusion about the topic

Part of the article is about structures that have one substituent (or H) on each boron, giving boron-anions as a result of a "fourth" bond to the other boron or a non-bonded electron (boron radical). But other parts have two subtituents (or H) on each boron (or a double-bonded substituent), giving boron-anions as a result of four discrete bonds. What is the actual parent compound here? Both structures (di-substituted and mono-substituted/B-B bond) have been referred to as diphosphadiboretanes in past literature. Seems like the term has broadly been used to describe any B2P2 core structure. Recently, the first structure has been referred to as a diphosphadiboretanediyl, which may be more appropriate and provide some clarity. Ngin227 (talk) 19:58, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
