The Diners Club Network was just purchased by Discover Network. It looks like this entire article needs to be rewritten, but I don't have all the information (such as the new CEO's, etc.). It should be noted that Discover only bought the network, and not the licensees. So Citi will continue to issue Diners Club cards in the U.S., Canada and many other countries. --WisTex (talk) 19:46, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

The logo would need to be changed as well. Discover has released a refreshed version of the Diners Club logo, with a more vibrant shade of blue, non-italicized text, and smaller cylinder behind the split-circle device. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.177.9.25 (talk) 10:01, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Why the bullfight reference? Do we need a controversies section?

The reference to bullfighting seems out of place and seems to be there only to critique bullfighting or Diners Club. Criticism of bullfighting as cruel should not be in the article. However, maybe there should be a criticism or controversy section. In addition, the bullfighting section has no references. I'll remove the entire paragraph for now. --Bruce Hall (talk) 03:56, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Carte Blanche

The section on Carte Blanche is poorly written and very confusing.

If Hilton bought back Carte Blanche in 1979 (from Citi), then how could Diners Club (purchased by Citi in 1981) use the Carte Blanche brand in 2000?

Did Citi repurchase the rights to Carte Blanche after Hilton phased out the card in the 1980s, or did Hilton repurchase only the system / network, but not the card licenses (which seems unlikely), in 1979?

There is no description of the card-numbering protocols (e.g., Diners Club and Carte Blance numbers begin with 38; MasterCard numbers begin with 5; &c.), but this information may appear in another article.

In short, some key facts are missing from the article, especially the Carte Blanche timeline. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 19:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
