People in Afghanistan do listen and pay attention to the very few genuine and honest leaders like Mr.Din Mohammad. Haji Din Mohammad's family served the Afghan nation for more than 150 years in different capacities. His great grand father on his father side Wazir Arsala Khan served as the Afghan Foriegn Minster in 1869. General Taj Mohammad khan one of Arsala Khan's son was one of the victors of the famous Afghan-Anglo battle of Maiwand. Arsala Khan's another grand son was the first Afghan Ambassador to Russia by the name of Abdul Jabbar Khan. Arsala Khan's another grand son by name of Aminullah Khan Jabbarkhail(the grandfather of Hedayat Amin Arsala the current Afghan Commerence Minister)was the Director of the population consenses and the list goes on.
Mr. Din Mohammad's father Amanullah Khan Jabbarkhail served as a districts administer in different regions of the Afghanistan which included Panjsher District and many others. His two uncles Mohammad Rafiq Khan Jabbarkhail and Haji Zaman Khan Jabbarkhail were the members of the Afghan Parliament( 7th session)at the same time. The 7th Session of the Afghan Parliament was very famous for it's resolutionary discussions and debates which demanded more rights for the ordinary Afghans from the Afghan King. During the Afghan struggle against the Soviet Union and it's puppet Communists the family was also in fore front and never hesitated from sacrificing their precious lives.Haji Din Mohammad's family almost lost 21 immediate family members in line of the service for their country. Among the first martyres for their country was his cousins which included Touran Abdul Rahman Arsala who was trained in Eygpt and Soviet Union as a bright member of the Afghan special forces and who was martyred at the age of 32 in 1982 in Hesarak District of Nangarhar Province. Many other family members were tortured and killed in Afghan Prisons by the Soviets and their Afghan Communists puppets. His two worldly renowned and chrismatic brothers namely Commander Abdul Haq and Haji Abdul Qadir Khan also struggled for years for the freedom of Afghan nation and for the estblishment of a decent civilized and broad based nationally represented Government and finally both of them gave the ultimate sacrifice of their life. His brother Abdul Haq is an Afghan legend for his bravery and vision for his country and who was nation wide respected by his countrymen. He bravely defended his country and when the Soviets retreated he didn't participated in the civil war and always tried to promote intra- Afghan dilogue among his different Afghan ethnic brothers. His brother Haji Abdul Qadir kept the eastern region of Nangarhar from being slipt in to civil war and made Nangarhar as the "House of Peace" and gave shelter to all other ethnicities to come and stay in Nangarhar during the Afghan Civil war when other So-called Afghan leaders were busy killing them. Haji Abdul Qadir finally become the Afghan President but unfortunately he was assissanated in front of his office in Kabul. His death was morned by thousands and thousands of Afghans.
Haji Din Mohammad was the eldest and he was the one who supported and directed his younger brothers towards such noble paths. He himself personally took part in the defence of his country. He served as the deputy of Hezb-e-Islami (Khalis). He served as the Minister of National Security in Interim government in exile in 1990s. He also served as Minister of Education in Mujahideen Government in 19992 which was established after the collapsed of the communists government. He also served as the Deputy Prime Minister in the same era but soon resigned when the infighting started among the rival factions of Ahmad Shah Masoud and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
During the Taliban Era he lived in exile and later helped his brother Commander Abdul Haq in his efforts for the establishment of a broad based government. Haji Din Mohammad also lost his 21 year old son Ezatullah Sahil who was killed by Taliban along with his brother Commander Abdul Haq.
He joined the current Afghan Government after the assassination of his brother Haji Abdul Qadir the Afghan Vice President and Governor of Nangarhar after the insistance of the people of Nangarhar.
He is a very wise and respected man who understands the concerns and the worries of his people very well. He tried to work out all the problems of people very justly but unfortunately there was not much support from the central government towards his efforts. The central government didn't assigned any considerable reconstruction budget to Nangarhar during his gubernatorial period. Such lack of interest by the central government raised some serious doubts about the intentions of some governmental elements to defame the genuine and native leadership in form of Din Mohammad and finally transferred him to Kabul.
Such genuine leaders with clear records should be supported who can accomplished alot due the trust they are enjoy among their people.
