What is the actual topic here?[edit]

Square–planar carbon compounds are sure interesting. But what specific compound is the topic of this article? "Octaplane" (article title) is a 21-carbon structure that was hypothesized to be square–planar but then calculations suggested it wasn't. A related compound with 23 carbons does have this calculated geometry, and it is this analog that is in the infobox. So is this article actually about this class of compounds rather than any one specific example? Ping User:Graeme Bartlett as creator. DMacks (talk) 08:47, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is the one I put in the infobox, as the coordination is (supposedly) square planar. Anyway the name is based on a book reference with diagram. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:55, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So the article is about (and should be titled) "Dimethanospiro(2.2)octaplane"? DMacks (talk) 09:16, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
