Should the name in the lead be Charles Howard "Dick" Ellis?
[edit]User:Adakiko , per your recent reverts (and mine, which I admit were led by the tone of the edit summaries, rather than the content) I'm not entirely sure there is a 'policy' argument for not using the above format MOS:NICKNAME actually says "If a person is known by a nickname used in lieu of or in addition to a given name, and it is not a common hypocorism of one of their names, or a professional alias, it is usually presented between double quotation marks following the last given name or initial." I don't think Dick is a common pet name for 'Charles' or 'Howard', and the fact the article title is "Dick Ellis" actually makes me lean toward this being the correct approach. - @JeffUK: I agree, it should be as before: Charles Howard "Dick" Ellis. Remove the superfluous "better known as Dick Ellis"? Adakiko (talk) 01:05, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Changed it to Charles Howard "Dick" Ellis & rm "better known as Dick Ellis". Adakiko (talk) 09:22, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
