- ... that Madonna could be the owner of a French painting believed to have been destroyed in World War I? Source: "What do the singer Madonna and Amiens in northern France have in common? ... However, Fouré insists there is a “special link” between the two in the shape of an early 19th-century painting that once hung in the Amiens museum until it was lost without trace during the first world war. Now the mayor is appealing for Madonna to loan a painting she possesses – Diana and Endymion, thought to be by Jérôme-Martin Langlois – for what she hopes will be Amiens’ successful bid to become the European capital of culture in 2028. ... “This painting is probably a work that was lent to the Amiens museum by the Louvre before the first world war after which we lost trace of it,” she adds." French city believes Madonna may own artwork lost in war – and asks for loan, Kim Willsher, The Guardian, 17 January 2023

Overall: Very interesting! The article meets all criteria, as does the hook, and I see no reason not to approve. JJonahJackalope (talk) 03:09, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- @No Swan So Fine and JJonahJackalope: I added two sections som that this is not just stub looking paragraph article. we could also add a description section between history and ownership so that we discuss the painting which is the subject of the article and not just the famous singer who may or may not own the original painting. - We probably need to refer to WP:DYKSG#D7 because the article is not complete without enough description/reception/discussion of the painting. Bruxton (talk) 20:07, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- The sections you've added have really improved the article, thank you. However I disagree with delaying the DYK as I have been unable to find any online English language sources discussing the painting, alas. No Swan So Fine (talk) 11:20, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. I like articles about artists and paintings. In this article, half of the article deals with the early history of the painting, and the other half discusses Madonna and her ownership. Nothing discusses the details of the painting, or what critics thought of it, or the meaning of it. I think the Madonna hook is great and will get clicks. I also think we need a bit more per D7. A few simple details are helpful also: is this an oil-on-canvas? What are the dimensions? Is it known by other names? I like paintings so I will see what I can find. - I removed my stop after adding description section to the article and an infobox. Bruxton (talk) 17:42, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Great finds! Thanks so much for expanding it. It looks so much better :) No Swan So Fine (talk) 20:37, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
