What are the rules for the jackpot going to be next season? Surely, athletes won't have go 14-for-14, will they? Would athletes even necessarily participate in all 14 meets? Nosleep break my slumber 06:51, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've not had a complete read of the rules yet but apparently a similar number of jackpot events will be widely spread across all diamond league meets, thus winning athletes would not need to compete at all meets as their races will not always be jackpot ones. It's not a massive departure from the IAAF Golden League and IAAF Super Grand Prix formats, it's just that the points earned, and the "diamond" events, will be split between them. It's called Samsung Diamond League now, because they are the main sponsor now. Someone should update it and maybe give a list of rules of the league like said above me. 80.56.51.129 (talk) 16:02, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Move page to "Diamond League (Athletics)", the name "IAAF Diamond League" is wrong since the series is not owned by the IAAF. It used to be called IAAF Diamond League only in the first days, when the IAAF had been in effect the title sponsor. Now with Samsung being the title sponsor, this name is wrong. Qualification / Invitation

[edit]

Can someone please explain in the article how athletes actually qualify for or are (invited to) each of the meetings? Is it based on performance in the previous year or performance throughout the year, or can each country's athletic committee nominate which athletes attend etc etc? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.29.115.172 (talk) 11:22, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Color coding

[edit]

Under the statistics section, some color coding is used on the tables. However, I do not know what those mean. Nothing in the article specifies the meaning of the colors in the tables. And I took the liberty of leaving behind a table similar to the one in the marathon table. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 20:10, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to chime in here, are you suggesting that this color coding table should be in the Statistics section? If so, I would suggest adding it because if you color code something, there should be an explantation of what this color means and so fourth. Soafy234 (talk) 23:27, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Disregard comment, I saw the color coding there. Soafy234 (talk) 23:28, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Diamond League logo version

[edit]

Which version should be used in Wikipedia for the Diamond League sites? There is the current version c:File:WDL logo t lbg rgb.png and the other version c:File:Diamond League logo.svg. I would actually prefer the second logo (without Wanda) because File:Wanda Group logo.svg itself is not a Commons file and the color grading of the logo version with Wanda is wrong I suppose, see https://www.diamondleague.com/home/. Furthermore only one is a SVG. Nordat (talk) 07:05, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Broadcasting Rights

[edit]

Would it be appropriate to have a section of broadcasting rights of where Diamond League can be watched on? I know that this is done for Euro 2024 (it own wikipedia page) Soafy234 (talk) 23:25, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect Diamond Races

[edit]

The table in the subsection Perfect Diamond Races is not sourced. How is inclusion in this table defined? Is this an official term or category? – Editør (talk) 19:07, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
