[edit]This article was incredibly biased towards the positives about the dam -- which, admittedly are many -- but conveniently neglected to mention the fact that the new body of water which will be created upstream of the dam will inundate known archaeological sites dating to over ten thousand years ago. I added a sentence about that little fact. Just trying to keep Wikipedia on its toes! 173.28.177.67 (talk) 22:41, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
the land is in dispute between India and Pakistan
[edit]In the article it is mentioned no where that the area of gilgit baltistan is in dispute between India and Pakistan , it should be mentioned with the location of the dam , and the other issue is when the area is in dispute then Pakistan cannot be referred as alone owner, all the countries which are involved in the dispute of this land should be mentioned , for the same dispute world bank denied to pass loan for the dam and asked to get a NOC from India which is still not given, Due to all these reasons i am editing this page to show the dispute of land. --Ganurap (talk) 18:10, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
- There was a lengthy discussion at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics/Archive 69#A proposal for Kashmir-related pages on this notable day for India and Pakistan. Generally, we mention the disputed status only on the highest-level articles (Gilgit Baltistan, Ladakh, etc), and not on the articles about the smaller entities. Suzerainty over the Diamer-Bhasha Dam is not disputed independently, but only to the extent that suzerainty over the whole region is disputed. There's no point mentioning this disputed status in individual articles (see for example Salal Dam, or just any other article in the region really). – Uanfala (talk) 22:44, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Information provided on Diamer Bhasha dam has coverage of its orignator, 3 times former Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawazsharif. He lauched this project in 1998 then his govt was toppled by dictator Musharaf. In 2016, in his 3rd term as PM, Nawazsharif allocated money to by the land for Diamer- Bhasha Dam. Seems like someone trying to hide his contributions here. @wikipedia do run a facts check.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jawaez (talk • contribs) 09:42, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
