Scope

[edit]

The scope of the article is pretty much overly specific for Wikipedia; much of it overlaps and could be merged into other more general articles such as Human rights in Thailand and Illegal immigration to Thailand. --Paul_012 (talk) 10:15, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the scope of article is pretty specific; however I disagree on the point that it overlaps and ought to be merged into other articles. Detention of refugee children is an ongoing issue that is often overlooked and almost ignored by the Thai authorities. I believe it ought to have a separate page to justify the seriousness of the issue; as many of serious issues regarding children in Thailand, such as Child Prostitution has own Wikipedia page. Child detention violates various international conventions and restricts on children's freedom of movement due to their migration status and in most cases, children have fled their states without own choice. I believe one of the ways to mitigate this issue is not only encouraging collaboration between States, NGOs and other international organisations; but the key is also to raise awareness, such as having own Wikipedia page.Najivier (talk) 22:25, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
