Concerns about irrelevant, possibly slanted legalese
[edit]I happened upon this article, and I couldn't help but notice it goes overboard in pushing the opinion that all deportations of Afghan refugees are blatantly unlawful, to the point that the people being deported become obscured.
There are extensive and lengthy discussions of statute and case law and quotations from the same which go beyond relevance to overwhelm the reader. Furthermore, the discussions sometimes verge on original research in contravention of WP:NOR, such as in the discussion of U.S. non-citizen nationals, which I have never otherwise read or heard of outside the context of people from American Samoa. (And that entire discussion is arguably irrelevant to the topic of the article, which is "Afghan refugees", not "Afghan-Americans".)
I think the article could be much improved by removing the excess legal discussions and focusing on the people who the U.S. has deported or attempted to deport. Better still would be to review news reports of those people's stories along with responses from U.S. officials.
At the very least, the legal discussions need to be reviewed by other people who know better than me about U.S. immigration and refugee law, so that all views on this controversial topic are fairly represented.

Wiktionary links
[edit]Do we seriously need 44 links to Wiktionary on this article? This is English Wikipedia, linking "involunary", "immigrants" and "national" is absurd and won't help anyone, and I am saying this as a non-native speaker. Super Ψ Dro 11:59, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Was this deportation not a notable event?
[edit]@Slywriter: Why does this article include this cleanup tag? Jarble (talk) 03:40, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Because it should be deleted. It’s a series of non-articles talking about a vague series of events that have no relation Slywriter (talk) 19:56, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Slywriter this article was created by an editor who's contributions were incredible problematic and have been nearly wholesale removed from wikipedia. If you were to nom this for deletion, I would probably agree with that. Alyo (chat·edits) 20:57, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
