Removal of images

"image galleries are strongly discouraged" - is that so? Never heard of that. Please give me a proof link. Also in case image galleries are now discouraged by Wikipedia, where is the link to Wikimedia Commons images ? ISasha (talk) 07:06, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
